• i moved! i have this wonderful roommate named matt. he's very hot and works at ralph lauren at a shwank mall. and yes, he's gay. i like the place a lot better. it's sunny and i have a garage.
  
• i was homeless for 13 days because of the move. my lease ended july 31 and my new apt wasn't ready until august 13. it wasn't too bad. i went home to chicago for 4 days.
• i went to chicago because i won tickets to lollapalooza. fader magazine held a contest for its online readers for a pair of free tickets. they asked everyone what their favorite thing about chicago was. i'll paste my submission in a follow-up post.
• to top it off, one of my friends scored me backstage passes for the 3 day-a-palooza. so i hung out backstage and at the artist lounges while watching bands like blonde redhead, lcd soundsytem, daft punk, modest mouse, matt & kim, interpol, yo la tengo, yeah yeah yeahs, the roots, pete bjorn, etceteras...
  
• i went to a six flags roller coaster adventure park for the first time in over 5 years. and yes, it was pretty DAMN awesome. i haven't had that much fun for... 5 years. :)
• i went to LA last weekend just to get away. the next place i live better have a beach.
• i had a birthday party last weekend in the city. me and about 15 other people had korean bbq and went karaoking. it was so much fun. the best part was that all the different kinds of friends i have hit it off! i was afraid there was going to be some clashing, but i guess when you add in a little alchohol and a whole lot of singing, things end up working out.
• it's my birthday tomorrow.
